5.1. Methodological overview

The methodology followed in this course is oriented towards achievement of the learning objectives. A wide range of teaching and learning tasks are implemented, such as theory sessions, cases and problems, task-solving, autonomous work and evaluation activities.

5.2. Learning tasks

The course includes the following learning tasks: 

  • Theory sessions (25 hours). Classroom activity in which the course contents are developed. 
  • Cases and problems (10 hours). Classroom activity in which problems related to the contents of the course will be solved.
  • Task-solving (10 hours).
  • Study (64 hours). Before the final exam.
  • Assessment (3.5 hours). 

5.3. Syllabus

The course will address the following topics:

Topic 1. Conceptual and legal bases of spatial planning.

Topic 2. Analysis and diagnostic of the agrarian territory.

Topic 3. Physical-natural and socio-economic-population factors.

Topic 4. Terminology and methodologies in spatial planning.

Topic  5. Land consolidation projects and land uses.

Topic 6. Methodology of land consolidation.

Topic 7. Irrigation projects and their likely effects in spatial planning.

Topic 8. Integrating projects into territory and landscape.

Topic 9. Territorial planning projects related to the environment. Protected natural areas typologies.

Topic 10. Renewable energy projects and their likely effects in spatial planning and population.

Topic 11. Agro-industrial sector and spatial planning.

Topic 12. Planning legislation, urban and rural planning.

Topic 13. Landscape integration techniques into development and management projects.

Topic 14. Methodological bases for the integration of the territorial projects.

Topic 15. Economic valuations of environmental and spatial planning actions.
